Foundational certification
Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-901) prep
AI-901 is the exam for the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals certification and the successor to AI-900. Compared with AI-900 it is more hands-on: more than half of the exam is about implementing AI solutions with Microsoft Foundry, and Microsoft expects you to know Python syntax. You get 45 minutes and need 700 out of 1,000 to pass.

How to prepare for AI-901 with TokIQ
TokIQ opens as an AI quiz. Tap Prepare for a certification, choose AI-901, and the app switches to exam prep. A few minutes a day, every day.
- 01
Pick the exam and your exam date
Choose the exam in the app and set the date you booked. No date yet? You get a 30-day plan. The app tells you how many questions a day keep you on track.
- 02
Do the daily session
About 10 questions a day (you can choose 5, 10, 15 or 20). Missed questions come back the next day; questions you get right come back at growing intervals (1, 3, 7 days and longer). That is spaced repetition: you review just before you would forget.
- 03
Read why, with the source
Every answer has an explanation in your language, and the question keeps the official English exam terms. Each question is built from the official exam guide and cites the official documentation page it is based on.
- 04
Fix your weak domains
Accuracy is tracked per official exam domain. The daily session leans toward your weakest domain, and the Practice tab lets you drill any domain. Wrong answers collect in My mistakes for review.
- 05
Watch your readiness score
After about 30 answers covering every domain, TokIQ estimates your readiness: your recent accuracy in each domain, weighted like the exam. It is an estimate to guide your study, not a prediction of your result.
- 06
Take a timed mock exam
A full-length practice exam with a timer, mark-for-review and a result per task statement. Free accounts get one mock exam a week; Premium unlocks more.
TokIQ questions are original practice questions written from the public exam guide and official documentation. They are not real exam questions, and no practice app can promise a pass.
AI-901: common questions
What replaced the AI-900 exam?
AI-901: Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals. AI-900 retired on June 30, 2026, and AI-901 is now the exam for the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals certification.
What is different in AI-901 compared with AI-900?
AI-901 is more practical. 55–60% of the exam is about implementing AI solutions with Microsoft Foundry (chat apps, agents, speech, vision and information extraction), and Microsoft expects knowledge of Python syntax. The other 40–45% covers AI concepts, responsible AI and AI workloads.
How long is the AI-901 exam and what score do I need?
Fundamentals exams last 45 minutes (with 65 minutes of seat time). Scores are reported on a scale of 1 to 1,000 and 700 or more is a pass. Microsoft does not publish the number of questions for AI-901; it says most of its exams have 40 to 60.
How much does AI-901 cost?
Microsoft prices the exam by the country or region where it is proctored, so check the price on the AI-901 exam page before you register.
Are TokIQ questions real AI-901 exam questions?
No. They are original practice questions written from the public AI-901 study guide, and each one cites the Microsoft Learn page it is based on.
How does TokIQ help me prepare for AI-901?
Pick the exam and your exam date, then do a short daily session (about 10 questions). Missed questions come back with spaced repetition, accuracy is tracked per official domain, a readiness score estimates how close you are, and timed mock exams let you practice under exam conditions. Explanations come in the language you choose from the app’s 40 languages.
Can TokIQ guarantee that I pass?
No. TokIQ shows how you are doing on practice questions and where to focus. The readiness score is an estimate from your own answers, not a prediction of your exam result. Combine it with the official training and documentation.
